2018 Annual General Meeting
This year SERRL will be holding their AGM and Prize Presentation jointly with the Surrey League. This will be held on January 27th 2019 at the Cranleigh Arts Centre, 1 High Street, Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 8AS between 12-3pm.
The reason for having a joint meeting is that both Leagues are extremely concerned about the lack of support and understanding from both British Cycling and from the British Cycling South East Regional Board.
SERRL values the opinion of all its members from riders to volunteers and officials and we do our best to provide an adequate race calendar for all our members.
Organising racing has been getting progressively harder over recent years. The last couple of years have been very challenging for both leagues with the increased difficulty in promoting racing on the open roads. We have felt very restricted by our regional board’s lack of pro active support in meeting the changing requirements to maintain the safety of all during events.
With this in mind the main topic of the meeting will be how both leagues proceed in both the short and long term to ensure we continue to provide a suitable calendar for both league’s members.
We have been discussing options with insurance companies to run races outside of British Cycling. This option gives us the freedom to provide a fuller calendar and provide the essential safety requirements without the over burdening red tape imposed on us by British Cycling.
We would like as many riders, volunteers, officials and anyone with a vested interest in cycle racing in the South East to attend and give us your opinions.
There will of course be free buffet refreshments for all. If possible, please could you let us know if you plan to attend by registering for the event on riderhq.com HERE
